I've been playing pickleball for years now and I've had a blast testing out the Selkirk VANGUARD 2.0 Invikta Lightweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle. It's an awesome paddle that really takes your game to the next level. The edge guard technology gives you a well-balanced, solid paddle that's super light and durable - perfect for those long games! And the proprietary bi-directional, cross-weave carbon fiber technology really helps you get the most out of your shots.The weight range is great too - you can get either the light 7.4 - 7.8 oz. or the midweight 7.7 - 8.2 oz. And the overall length of 16-1/2" gives you plenty of reach and control. Plus, the extra large sweet spot helps you hit more consistent shots.I'm really impressed with this paddle. It delivers both power and spin and it has a great feel. I can really accelerate the ball and have great control over my shots. I've had some really intense rallies with this paddle and it's held up great. It's definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a top-notch pickleball paddle.

On the flip side, I've found that the paddle doesn't have quite as much grip as some other models; so if you're looking for a really grippy paddle then this isn't it. But overall, I'm very impressed with this paddle - it's definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a top-notch pickleball paddle!

Attacking Play

When it comes to attacking play, the Selkirk VANGUARD 2.0 Invikta Lightweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle really takes the cake. The edge guard technology gives you balanced distribution of power at the edges and the extra large sweet spot takes hitting accuracy to a whole new level. I noticed that even when I rushed my shots a bit, I could still be precise and land the ball in just the right spot. The power and spin I was able to generate were awesome and I was really flying around the court. I really enjoyed the maneuverability of the paddle. Its lightweight nature allowed me to move quickly and the long handle gave me great reach. I found that when I had the time to set up a good shot I could really control where I wanted the ball to go; and when I was in a bind and needed to get the ball over the net, I could get power while keeping it precise. However, I did find that the paddle lacked in terms of its grip. Although I was able to have great control over my shots with the paddle, I felt I lost some grip on the paddle when I'm trying to move quickly around the court. Also, if I ran the ball into the edge of the paddle, the edge guard technology would show itself and I would feel an uncomfortable vibration. All in all, the Selkirk VANGUARD 2.0 Invikta Lightweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle is a great paddle for attacking play, it just needs a bit more in the grip department.

Control Play

When it comes to control play, the Selkirk VANGUARD 2.0 Invikta Lightweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle really shines. I found that its elongated shape and bi-directional cross-weave carbon fiber technology allowed me to hit shots with pinpoint accuracy. The low profile edge guard technology also gave me a solid feel when hitting the ball and helped me keep shots low and tight. I was able to easily drop shots into the kitchen or the backcourt with ease, and even place angled shots just where I wanted them. On defense, this paddle was great for blocking shots coming at me hard and fast. With one well-placed stroke of this paddle, I could quickly stop my opponent's attack shot in its tracks and redirect it away from danger. This paddle also allowed me to hit soft lobs over my opponents head when they weren't expecting it. One downside that I noticed while playing with this paddle was that while it had great control, it sometimes lacked in power when I needed an extra boost on my shot. Also, because of its light weight design, if I didn't generate enough momentum for a shot myself, the paddle wouldn't be able to do much for me in terms of adding power behind my stroke. All in all though, the Selkirk VANGUARD 2.0 Invikta Lightweight Carbon Fiber Pickleball Paddle is a great choice for players who want an all-round performance paddle with amazing control capabilities
